Congratulations to our Math Counts Team! They placed 4th at the competition at CCU last weekend. And special shoutout to Silas Floyd who won 3rd overall competitor. Thank you to Coach Melissa Emmons for her leadership, and assistant coach Luke Johnston. Luke is a former Gator who attends Scholars Academy and comes back to FMS to help our mathletes!
We are excited to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our talented musicians. Several of our students have earned a place in the South Carolina All-Region Honor Band! We would also like to give a special congratulations to Silas Floyd, who has gone above and beyond by earning first chair in the region and earning a seat in the South Carolina All-State Honor Band. This is a remarkable achievement that reflects Silas’s commitment to excellence and musicianship at the highest level.

HCS is excited to welcome Clifford Jones as our new Superintendent! He’s recorded a short video sharing his message to parents, students, HCS employees, and the Horry County community.
Isaac Barrios is a State Runner Up at the Carolina Invitational! He finished the season with a 26-2 record, 19 pins and second best middle school wrestler in the state at 126 pounds. We are so proud of him and our entire wrestling program! Go Gators and go Braves!
We are so proud to announce that our FMS Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Sandy Shores, is a semi-finalist Top Ten Teacher of the Year for Horry County Schools! She will now move on to the next level of competition. We wish her all the best and are so proud to have her represent FMS!
